Target announced it will be making an investment this year in remodeling 150 locations reimagining the shopping experience with top-to-bottom makeovers, including modern fixtures, enhanced experiences, and the latest in health and safety. These stores will join the more than 800 stores that have been upgraded over the past four years.
Leaning into pandemic consumer behavior that is likely to stick, the remodeled stores will expand and upgrade Guest Services, Order Pickup, and Drive Up areas to make them even more convenient. Target has been using its brick-and-mortar assets to fulfill orders and provide contactless fulfillment options throughout the pandemic. In fiscal year 2020, Target's sales through same-day services have grown by 235%. Guests will also find the latest safety features throughout the updated stores, from touchless bathroom fixtures to hand-sanitizing stations.
The remodeled stores will also include shop-in-shop concepts that are reflective of department stores. In November 2020, the retailer announced that Ulta Beauty at Target will debut at more than 100 Target stores nationwide and online at Target.com beginning in 2021. Target will also be rolling out a toy concept with Disney and mini Apple shops. The merchandising strategy allows Target to offer established and emerging prestige brands online and in select locations nationwide.
